April Fools

Let's try this again, and skip the "about time", "welcome back", etc comments.

Best Family Home Evening! Elyse requested last night to give the lesson and came up with it all on her own.  She told us about Christ coming again and how peaceful it will be, "even the animals will be peaceful".  So she took us, and Bastet, on a peaceful walk so we could see what it will be like.  So thoughtful!!

On our way home from the walk Dallin April Fooled Caia.  We were finishing our family night walk and he and Caia were playing.  She would say, "on your mark, get set", and when he said "Go" Caia would grab him so he couldn't run, Dallin loved it.   The last time they both lined up to race the last little bit home.  They both had one foot on the line and one behind them,  bent down ready to take off.  Dallin said "on your mark... get set..., GO!"  Caia took off  running and Dallin stood up, looking pretty smug and watched her take off.  All I could do was laugh!  He is  such a tease!

And Down he goes!

Dallin learned to go down the stairs.  I don't know why this video is so short, but you get the idea!

All that Talent

This year Caia and her friends were on the Lena Talent Show Committee.  They got to make posters, hold auditions, and tell the different acts if they got in or to try again next year.  They decided they wanted matching t-shirts to set them apart, so this is what we came up with.

Payton and her friend decided that they wanted to play Ode to Joy since Payton was learning it on the piano and her friend on the guitar.  They brought me their music and it was in the same key so we gave it shot.  They were so cute working on it.  They would come over here to practice and you could see Payton listening and waiting they were a great duet!  So cute!!!  I couldn’t believe how much time they put into practicing when they were together.  They did such a great job!

Best Buddies

So after 3 1/2 months of waiting Dallin's best buddy finally made his grand appearance.  It was fun being pregnant with such a great friend.  I love this picture taken at their first meeting.  I have no doubt it won't be long and we won't even notice the age difference. Today we took them on their first shopping trip together.  Isaac's big brother was so cute when he declared so excited "they get to sit together for the first time!".  He knows how important a best buddy is.  Yes the first and I'm very sure not the last.  Congratulations John's family.  We are so excited for you!!

0-1 in No Time

I love, love, love 0-12 months.  I cry when my kids turn 1 because I love the first year so much. There isn't anything I don't like about this age.  No I don't mind the night feedings, diaper changes, (even when you go through 3 diapers before being able to get 1 clean one on and having to sanitize everything from ceiling down),or baths.  I enjoy and LOVE my kids at all their ages. And stages come and I now know they will go. I remember holding all of my babies trying so hard to make an imprint in my mind of what it looked like to hold them during and after they ate, sleeping in my arms.  There is nothing better.  Today I grabbed the camera intending to delete some pics on it to free up some space for the month of Sept, while I nursed Mr Dallin Man.  So I did, and set the camera down.  We were in his room, door closed, music on, in our new rocking chair.  I love the paint, the pictures, and all the baby furniture in there, it makes me feel happy, calm and peaceful.  As I looked down into his sleeping face trying to imprint forever in my mind this perfect moment, I grabbed the camera.

"Mr. Dallin Man,    Dallin Man, Dallin Man.
You are the one for me,    one for me, one for me.
Sent from up above,   up above, up above.
You are the one I love!"

This is the song we sing to him when he's fussy.  I love to hear his sweet sisters sing the echo.
(And if you think the words sound familiar then you must be a Veggie Tales fan too.)

What did I do today....

Nursed, then nursed some more. Every time I thought Dallin was done and asleep, I was wrong. He wanted to nurse again. I did manage to feed the Salomon family. It was Payton's last request before they moved, to please have them to dinner, so we did. Hamburgers, easy to prepare, between feedings, and easy to clean up between feedings. I did manage to clean my bathroom, between feedings, and the garbage cans in my room...between feedings. 11:30pm, he is still hungry. I broke down and gave him formula. He inhaled it! He's now asleep..between feedings!
